Privacy Policy

This policy explains what StudentFit collects when you use the StudentFit iOS app and website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We've written it to be read — plain language first, the legal specifics where they matter.
Overview
StudentFit is an iOS app built for student-athletes that brings workouts, nutrition, study sessions, recovery and scheduling into one place. In this policy, “StudentFit,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of StudentFit, and “you” refers to anyone who uses the app or this site.
We collect only what we need to run the features you use, we don't sell your personal information, and we tell you below exactly when your data leaves the app — including the one place it's sent to an outside AI service, Google's Gemini, to power Snap a Meal.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Depending on which features you use, this can include:
- Account details — such as your name and email address when you create an account.
- Profile and goals — sport, training preferences, calorie and macro targets, study goals, and similar settings you choose.
- Workout data — the exercises, sets, reps, weights and rest you log, and the Muscle Focus / Muscle Mastery progress derived from them.
- Nutrition data — foods and meals you log and the macros associated with them.
- Meal photos — images you capture or upload when you use Snap a Meal (see the Gemini section below).
- Study and schedule data — focus sessions and logged hours, plus the classes, workouts, meals and recovery you place on your calendar.
- Messages you send us — for example, questions submitted through our Q&A form or by email.
Information collected automatically. When you use the app we may collect basic device and usage information — app version, device type and operating system, general diagnostics and crash logs, and how features are used — to keep StudentFit working and to improve it.
Information from integrations. If you connect Apple Calendar, we access the calendar data you permit so we can show and sync your schedule. You grant these permissions through iOS and can revoke them at any time in your device settings.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate StudentFit's features — workouts, nutrition, study, recovery and scheduling.
- Generate nutrition estimates from the photos you submit to Snap a Meal.
- Sync your schedule with Apple Calendar when you connect it.
- Maintain accounts, provide customer support, and respond to your questions.
- Keep the app secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- Understand which features are useful so we can improve the product.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the GDPR), we rely on performing our contract with you to deliver the app's features, your consent for optional features and integrations, and our legitimate interests in keeping StudentFit secure and improving it.
Snap a Meal & Google Gemini
AI feature
StudentFit's Snap a Meal feature uses Google's Gemini API — a generative-AI service provided by Google — to estimate the food in your photo and its approximate calories and macronutrients.
What is sent. When you take or upload a photo in Snap a Meal, that image — together with any short description you add and the minimal technical data needed to complete the request — is transmitted to the Gemini API for analysis.
Why. The photo is sent solely to generate the nutrition estimate we return to you inside the app. We do not use Snap a Meal photos to advertise to you or to identify you, and we don't sell them.
Google's role. Google processes this content to provide the result and handles it under the Google Privacy Policy and the terms that govern the Gemini API. We don't control Google's independent practices, so we encourage you to review those policies.
Your control. Snap a Meal is optional. You can log foods manually by searching our food database instead, and you can simply choose not to submit photos.
Health & nutrition disclaimer
StudentFit, including AI-generated estimates from Snap a Meal and any calorie, macro or training figures shown in the app, is provided for general fitness and informational purposes only. AI estimates are approximations and can be inaccurate. Nothing in the app is medical, nutritional or professional advice. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your diet, training or health.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide StudentFit, then for a reasonable period afterward to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we're required to retain it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please help by using a strong password and keeping your device secure.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA), among others, have specific rights — including, for California residents, the right not to have personal information sold (we don't sell it).
You can also manage app permissions — such as camera, photos and calendar — directly in your iOS settings. To exercise any of these rights, email us at studentfit.official@gmail.com. We'll respond as required by applicable law and won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children's privacy
StudentFit is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are between 13 and 17, please use StudentFit with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at studentfit.official@gmail.com and we will delete it.
International users
StudentFit may be operated from, and your information processed in, countries other than your own — including the United States — where data protection laws may differ. Our service providers, such as Google, may also process data in multiple regions. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as StudentFit evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of StudentFit after an update means you accept the revised policy.
